Nick Matthew wins 9th National title in Manchester

Well done Nick.

Nick wins his 9th national title in Manchester last weekend.

Nick beat Joe Lee (WR 45) in the final to take home his 9th national title.

Nick is already 3 x World Champion / 3 x Commonwealth Gold Medalist / 3 x British Open Champion. These are just a few of the highlights in Nick's career. 

We look forward to seeing what comes next.

The Hallamshire is going head to head with Liverpool in the National Racketball Club Championships at 7pm Friday 17th February 2017.

British Junior Open 2017 - Round up

The Hallamshire hosted the prestigious British Junior Open. We hosted the boy's and girl's U13s and U17s. 3 of our juniors have qualified for the tournament.

Congratulations to the following juniors.

Nick Wall finished 4th in the boy's U17.

Charlotte Jagger finished 22nd in the girls U19.

Jack Walmsley finished 57th in boy's U15

Charlotte Jagger comes 2nd in Scottish Squash Junior Open 2017

Charlotte Jagger comes 2nd in the Scottish Squash Junior Open 2017.

Straight from the British Junior Open Charlotte had another successful tournament by finishing 2nd in the Scottish Junior Open. It is a great start to 2017 for Charlotte. 

Charlotte is part of the Apex Academy and Nick Matthew Academy at the Hallamshire. Charlotte also is on the Hallamshires scholarship programme. The next round of applications for the scholarship programme is open for application. The application form can be found on our club page in the download section.

Yorkshire County Junior Tennis Squads at Hallamshire section closed section open

Yorkshire County Junior Tennis Squads at Hallamshire

The Hallamshire has been asked to play host to the Yorkshire Junior County Tennis Squads. The squads will be using all indoor courts on Saturday 14th January 2pm -5pm.

These squads move from club to club throughout the winter and as a prominent Yorkshire club we have been asked to host the training. This event is being funded by the Yorkshire LTA.

They are also using the Hallamshire for the training on the 29th January and 12th February 2017

Hallamshire Junior Scholarship Programme January 2017 Application Now Open!

The new round of applications are now open to apply. The deadline for applications is 22nd January 2017.

Announcements of the successful scholars will be made on Monday 13th February.


We will be holding a presentation for the juniors in March, the date is yet to be confirmed for the presentation.


Applications are available on our club page in the download section or they are available to pick up from reception.

Hallamshire in National  Club Championships

The Hallamshire is in the National Club Championships.

The club will have a men's and ladies team in the racketball competition.

The 1st men's match is away at Huddersfield on Thursday 19th January.

The 2nd men's match is against Liverpool and is at home on Friday 17th February at 7pm

The remaining 2 match dates are to be confirmed.

We welcome supporters to cheer on the team.

The ladies team has a bye straight to the finals weekend in May.

Good luck to both teams.

Sheffield & District Tennis Teams 2016

Fantastic effort this year from all players for our Sheffield & district tennis teams, with many new members playing for the teams. Thanks to all the 2016 team captains for hard work and commitment. A special thanks to Linda Savage and Janet Taylor who are both standing down as captain's after many years of service. We have plans to add new teams for 2017 and all the teams welcome new members.

Former Hallamshire Managers pass away section closed section open

Former Hallamshire Managers pass away

It is with great sadness we inform you that two former managers of the Hallamshire have recently passed away.

Steve Ball and Ralph Miles both passed away this week.

They will both be greatly missed and our sympathies are with their families.
